Things About Ace
Dec. 21st, 2005 08:19 pm1) Ace grew up rather set in the belief that family is a waste of time, and that she's better off without one. She missed her crew back in Perivale more than she missed her mum and da. Over years of time together, she came to accept the Doctor as something of a father-figure. As for her bar family, they've all rather taken her by surprise. She still considers all three of them older brothers, even if she's technically older than two of them. University life on Gallifrey may lend a lot in book knowlege, but not so much in practical experience.
2) She would, willingly, and probably gladly, kill to protect her family. Period.
3) Ace and her TARDIS do not have the unspoken understanding the Doctor and his TARDIS do. Give them a couple decades together, if they get it, and perhaps they'll develop the beginnings of something like it.
4) It is going to take some kind of Mr. Wonderful to make Ace even consider being in a serious romantic relationship ever again. Ever. She believes that whole 'the right one is out there for you somewhere' line is complete rubbish. Anyone who tries to convince her otherwise too soon or without the right technique will be scorned. And laughed at. Perhaps both.
5) Ace loves Tim Hunter, easily just as much as she did the day she married him. She just doesn't trust him at all. She cannot delude herself into thinking this can ever be any kind of stable, self-supporting relationship. She just wishes she could stop loving him - it'd be a whole lot less painful.
6) Ace hates the Dalek. Hates, loathes, despises. She will never learn to like the Dalek. There will never be reconciliation with the Dalek. She will, at fairly consistant intervals, ask if she can blow up the Dalek.
Someday, she might just blow up the Dalek without asking, or give her best attempt to.
7) While Ace will argue long and loud regarding the obvious benefits of timers over fuses... she really doesn't care that much. She just loves explosions. She loves the light, the sound, the sudden excitement and motion, the fact that here is something undeniable and hers, she organized it created it planned it executed it, and there's no way anyone can fail to take notice.
8) Ace is also rather not fond of Cybermen, Sliveen, Autons, and other nasties of her 'verse. Just not quite to the same degree of hatred she reserves for Daleks. The only creature that might match on that scale is Fenric.
9) Ace has a room in the bar, and uses it, but only because it gives her a place to be where she can reach the bar, if needed, and can bring people there, without worrying about security. There's certain people, after all, that one does not lightly invite aboard timeships.
10) She's worried that the Doctor still has no companion. She's almost at the point where she will hunt Fenchurch down and practically shove her into the TARDIS and lock the door behind her.
After all. Her Doctor was alone when he got himself killed.
