She's right, it is the Doctor's TARDIS, but this isn't the way she would have chosen to go back. As the door slides shut behind her, she feels a stab of... regret? Fear? Loss? Whatever it is, it leaves her unsettled as she picks herself up off the floor. Her bag is where she left it, many months ago. Absent-mindedly she picks it up and slings it over one shoulder, then heads down the hall in search of some answers. There's a long-overdue conversation to be had.
"Ah, there you are, Ace. Just in time." Ace stands in the doorway, staring at the familiar form she has been missing for so long. The Doctor is turned away from her, working at something on the central console. The column is moving - the TARDIS is in flight.
"Doctor?" Hesitant, after so much time away, "I..."
"No time for that, we're landing." His voice cuts over hers easily, and true to his word, the column slows, stops, and the pattern of lights on the console changes. He hurries about the console, checking various gages before smiling smugly to himself and pulling the lever which causes the main doors to open smoothly.
"Come Ace, we've got work to do." He announces in that pre-emptory tone that has worked so many times before. He snags his hat and umbrella off the hatstand on his way out the door, leaving Ace to sta re after him. Evidently, some things never change. Shrugging to herself, she hurries out the door, and is gone before the TARDIS doors shut behind her.
