Mar. 16th, 2005 08:43 pmWhile Tim is off being official, Ace slips upstairs. She really doesn't feel like any more company tonight. Once she's got a good solid door between her and the madness of the barroom (she had seen Manuel out of the corner of her eyes, and it might have been part of what prompted her hasty retreat), she relaxes a bit. Though it's almost too quiet. She makes a mental note to ask the bar for a pendulum clock or something.
With her nitro locked away, and her clothes exchanged for something sweat-suity and comfy, she grabs her soccer-ball blanket again and perches on the edge of the mussed bed, a red vial in her hand. She doesn't like relying on medicines or potions. Seems too easy, almost. There's sure to be a price to pay somewhere... but she's exhausted, and she knows she probably won't be able to pull off the insomniac routine for another night. Dreamless sleep sounds like a pretty good deal just about now.
Finally she tires of internal debate and uncorks the small vial. The potion smells alright. At least it isn't grape. She might have balked at grape. With a sigh, she chugs the contents of the vial, and sets it carefully on the desk. Nothing ventured, right?
She drops off to sleep curled up in her soccer-ball blanket.
